Training for TWWB
In preparation for TWWB, building knowledge of local routes that can help target the main elements you will need to help you complete the route is vital. This will primarily include HILLS! An understanding of pace, fuel and cycling psychology will need developing in order to build on fitness and develop a mental toughness needed to succeed and not to unclip. Trial and error is the key here, find your weaknesses and train them! I will be adding some local training routes and hopefully use the combined knowledge of the team to help develop them.
If you struggle with hills
- There’s no shame in having a triple on the front.
- Fit something bigger than a 25 tooth sprocket on the back.
A compact chainset is a good compromise between race gearing and a triple. You’ll have speed on the flat, but you’ll be able to climb on it too.
